Tom Henderson, ShelterBox CEO.
Guest Speaker at Special Meeting

As host club for a combined services club dinner with Numurkah Lions, we have been fortunate in securing an outstanding international speaker, Tom Henderson.

Tom is the founder and CEO of ShelterBox and is making a short visit to Australia during which he can only accept a few speaking engagements. No doubt he will address the contribution of ShelterBoxes in assisting disaster relief in various countries.

At the RI Convention in Birmingham, England, in June, where he was given a standing ovation, Tom received the Rotary eClub One Professional Excellence Award for demonstrating the application of the ideal of service in professional and community life through the creation of the ShelterBox concept and its nurturing and growth as Rotary global project

The function has been scheduled for Monday, 15 March, 2010 at the Numurkah Town Hall.

Our club extends a warm invitation to district Rotarians and partners to attend this evening. Some clubs may even consider adjusting their normal dinner meeting date to join with us.

We will forward further details regarding this event when the planning committee, led by Rotarian Sieg Seiter, has arrangements finalised.

We trust that Rotarians will consider keeping this date free and watch for an update from the Rotary Club of Numurkah.

Yours in Rotary,

Ernest Jones

An Urgent Request For Help

My Fellow Rotarians,

It is with regret that I must inform you that our closest neighbours are in desperate need of our help. Tropical storm Ondoy, Earthquakes & Tsunamis have left over 2 million people in dire circumstances, they have, in most cases been left with nothing.

Our ShelterBox Response Teams are on the ground and working with Rotary Clubs in Samoa, Sumatra & Manila, they are reporting that the situation is worse than we can imagine.

Please help us to deliver Shelter, Warmth, Dignity and Hope for Survival in the form of a Rotary ShelterBox

Please Help If You Can - The Need is Now

Yours In Rotary Service & Fellowship

PP Bob Eycken PHF
