ShelterBox News

From Eb Friedrich

I have been involved in ShelterBox deployment to Kinglake since last Tuesday. We have distributed 70 boxes to date plus used tents for storage of food and other items and to provide on site accomodation to workers. This is a substantial ShelterBox domestic response. ShelterBox Reasponse Team members Eb, Mark Mallman, Darren Mayne and Hans Van Dyk have been flat out every day.

Eb is being escorted by Australian Army with ShelterBoxes to Flowerdale today bodies still present. Please refer to ShelterBox website. The Prime Minister came and saw ShelterBoxes yesterday along with Angus Houston & John Brumby and they convey their thanks & appreciation to Rotary. Great assistance from AG Ross Butterworth & Rotarians from Melton Valley & Rotarians from Rotary Club of Hampton.

There is an urgent need to replenish boxes. Another 50 coming up this morning. Many harrowing stories. Eb & Mark have been continually involved and exhausted. Tremendous support given by Rotary Club of Whittlesea members Chris & Lyn Prescott who have accomodated & looked after Eb & Mark.
