Is your Rotary group interested in, or participating in international projects? Would you like to hear inspiring stories from people who've dedicated a time in their lives to living, sharing and becoming a part of a developing community, with the goal of building capacity and skill sharing.
At any one time, Australian Volunteers International has around 700 skilled volunteers working overseas, in developing countries in Asia, The Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Although AVI is government funded, we're a completely independent organisation with no religious of political affiliations. When our volunteers return from their assignments, which are most commonly two years in duration, they have inspiring and interesting life experiences to share. Our volunteers range from people in their mid to late twenties, to many retirees or people in later stages of their career.
Returned volunteers are happy to give talks and act as speakers at various gatherings, likewise with AVI staff, whom many of have been international volunteers themselves. We do ask for a small donation, stressing that the money can go directly to someone in the field, someone nominated by the group or whatever.
Any Rotary group interested in booking an AVI speaker can simply email or call Christine Crosby, AVI's Media, Marketing and Communications Manager.
