David and Judy Cooke have been married for thirty-one years and have two children Damien and Elissa. David has worked for multi national companies, resulting in many moves over the past thirty years.
They enjoyed the moving and changing life styles. They are now settled in Albury, where they run an Insurance Loss Adjusting agency and enjoy its position, with easy access to the snow, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.
Both David and Judy have management, sales and marketing backgrounds. Judy in retail and David with manufacturing and Insurance.
David joined Rotary in 1991 with the Rotary Club of Grenfell in District 9700. After two years working on local community service projects and assisting the sergeants his job took him to the nearby town of Young also in District 9700. Young is the centre of District 9700 where they hold the PETS and District Assembly each year. The Young Rotary club does the catering and assists with the preparation for these events. David enjoyed this regular contact with district.
In 1998-99 David served as President of the Rotary Club of Young. That same year his club hosted the District Conference.
In 2000-01 he served briefly on District Youth Committee but resigned as his work took him to Albury.
The Rotary Club of Albury West invited him to join and since then he has continued to serve on the board in various positions.
David was appointed the Assistant Governor for Group 9 for 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
David has a strong passion for Rugby League and Rugby Union. He was a player coach for most of his playing career retiring at 42. Both David and Judy enjoy all sports. They enjoy daily walking and long bike rides when the weather is suitable.
Judy enjoys arts and crafts. She has exhibited works in antique reproduction porcelain dolls, watercolour and pastel paintings.
Both Judy and David are passionate about Rotary and look forward to serving the district in the lead up to and during their term as District Governor
