From 2003-2006 David was Chair of the District Youth Exchange Committee and is currently Chair of the Australian Rotary Youth Exchange Programme Chairs' Conference (ARYEPCC). As a member of the Rotary Club of Yea, David also likes to say that Yea is the acronym for Youth Exchange Australia. A secondary school teacher by profession, David taught history at Canberra Grammar School from 1978 until 1992 during which time he was also Sportsmaster at the school. After extensive travels in 1992, David returned home and gradually took over responsibility for running the family cattle enterprise which he somehow fits in with Rotary and other community involvement. Watching sport from the couch, wine and travel occasionally get a look in and he is hoping one day to experience the joys of an AFL premiership as Melbourne enjoys the ultimate in September glory. He is too young to recall the glory days of the fifties and the most recent premiership in 1964. |
