| INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS' VISIT TO YARRAWONGA |
![]() |
|
The Rotary Club of Yarrawonga - Mulwala has again hosted some English Language students from La Trobe University in the annual Home Host programme which gives the students a brief experience of Australian life in a country town. This year Ziyan Peng (China), Akira Abe (Japan), Vance Peng (China) and Habib Ahmadj(Afghanistan) enjoyed seeing Yarrawonga by car, on foot and on bikes. They also had an enjoyable day at Echuca learning about the old wharf and having a brief ride on a paddle steamer. They also attended a Rotary meeting, cooked an "international dinner" for their host families, experience an Aussie BBQ - complete with flies and mosquitoes- and on the last night enjoyed the Chinese Smorgasboard at the Ski Club. One student said "A week here is worth a term of learning. We learn so much" Pictured are the students with Rotarian Noel Thomas as he showed them over his nephew's farm. Jenny Dight |
