Mental Health Awareness Forum |
With the support of Australian Rotary Health Rotary Club of Sunbury will be hosting a free, public information Awareness Forum on Thursday 12th November to discuss mental health with a focus on Anxiety and Depression at the Memorial Hall - Macedon Street, Sunbury
The Rotary Club of Sunbury is committed to holding this event with the desired outcome being the creation of awareness in the community and the support infra-structure in place to assist those in need.
- Our aim is to provide useful and practical information about mental health issue;
- to de-stigmatise such issues; to raise awareness of mental illness and the importance of early intervention and treatment;
To give advice on coping with mental illness;
To bring community members into contact with mental health services and support groups
- To offer hope and understanding to all.
The forum will commence at 7.00pm and conclude around 9.30pm. Entry is free and refreshments will be available. Short addresses will be provided by 2 key note speakers ( Wayne Schwass past AFL Footballer and Catherine Clarke Clinical Psychologist)followed by an open forum for questions. All attendee's will have the opportunity to mingle with the presenters and local health care groups at the conclusion over a cup of tea or coffee.
