The Rotary Club of Seymour had its humble beginnings way back in 1954. One of the driving forces behind it's establishment was local identity, Henry WHITEMAN.

It was a momentous occasion on 23rd August 2011 when Henry was re-admitted to the club which he helped to form 57 years ago!

Henry's induction brought the Club's membership tally to 40 - it's highest to date! It's appropriate that Henry should now be credited with taking the club to such heights!

After joining the founding committee in 1953, Henry was a Charter Member, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Director, Program Director and Club Service Director.

Henry's work did not stop there because he was also instrumental in founding the Seymour Probus Club and was one of their Charter Members.

Henry Whiteman can only be described as a true gentleman with a keen sense of humour! Rotary has always been a part his life. Since returning to Seymour in 1987, even though he was not a current member, he was still most supportive of the Rotary Club of Seymour. In typical style, he is already back to work and taking a keen interest in the continuing development of Rotary Park in Emily Street!

It's wonderful to welcome Henry back to the club!
