At the RI Convention in Birmingham, England, in June, where he was given a standing ovation, Tom received the Rotary eClub One Professional Excellence Award for demonstrating the application of the ideal of service in professional and community life through the creation of the ShelterBox concept and its nurturing and growth as Rotary global project Our club extends a warm invitation to district Rotarians and partners to attend this evening. Some clubs may even consider adjusting their normal dinner meeting date to join with us. As host club for a combined services club dinner with Numurkah Lions, we have been fortunate in securing an outstanding international speaker, Tom Henderson.
Tom is the founder and CEO of ShelterBox and is making a short visit to Australia during which he can only accept a few speaking engagements. No doubt he will address the contribution of ShelterBoxes in assisting disaster relief in various countries.
