The Charter for the Rotary Club of Preston was granted in December 1960.

This is a service Club presently with thirty five members; our members are a diverse group of professional and non professional men and women who are working to address and support various community service needs.

Our Club holds a luncheon meeting each Wednesday at Rydges Hotel on Bell Street at 1230 pm for 12.45 pm.

The meeting concludes promptly at 1.45pm - minimum dress code smart casual. At these meetings we usually have guest speakers covering a wide range of topics. The meeting also provides opportunities for fellowship with other business and non business people from the area.

Our fund raising activities have allowed our Club to donate approx $100,000 annually to various charities and causes in the local area.

For example our Club provides on-going financial support for Life Education (an organization that visits primary schools in the North Eastern Region of Melbourne to educate children about the harmful effect of drugs), the Mental Illness Fellowship of Victoria and the Children’s Protection Society to name but a few.

In addition our Club members volunteer their time to work on projects such as the establishment and maintenance of the Moira Kelly Farm at Kilmore, the home of the Children First Foundation.

The Rotary International logo for this year is “Rotary Shares” for Rotarians - sharing means giving of yourself for the good of others. This typifies our Club perfectly.
