Rotary organises the third annual Ride the Ranges

Riders ready to leave on the 110km ride
Happy riders after the 40km ride

Another wet day for our bike riders: for a third year in a row the weather has been overcast with intermittent rain showers and very little sunshine. But these bike riders are a tough lot and appear to enjoy the ride no matter what the Mother Nature throws at them.

This year 40 riders took part in Ride the Ranges: a 40km ride and 110km ride winding through the local countryside commencing and finishing at the Seven Creeks Park Euroa.

With a grant from the Shire of Strathbogie the Rotary Club provided refreshments, manned checkpoints and marshals. Lead and follow up vehicles are also provided to ensure riders are safe and stay on the right routes. At the end of the ride all riders, friends and family are provided a BBQ breakfast by the Rotary club.

Event orgainser Neville Harris stated. "We are disappointed with the low number of riders but it is great to see some riders back for the third year. It is hard to find a weekend when the ride won't clash with other events in the region." The Rotary Club of Euroa looks forward to running a similar event in 2012.
