The Rotary Club of Coburg donates a $1000.00 to the Royal District Nursing Service – Moreland Centre. The RDNS was first established in 1885 as a community service with one nurse and now has a staff of 1,200 nurses with 400 support staff. It operates through 22 sites, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The service cares for 40,000 patients a year and attends 9,600 patients a day. One of the major medical conditions with an ageing population is incontinence, which affects approximately 12% of the clients and this figure is increasing. Incontinence can be caused by either nerve damage or other medical problems. |
