The members of the Rotary Club of Cobram were saddened at the sudden death of Max Pawsey following a hip replacement operation. Max was a respected and active member of our Club for the past 12 years. Prior to that he had been a member of the Rotary Clubs of Coburg and Berwick. Max was a Paul Harris Fellow, Past President of Coburg and Berwick, District 9800 Secretary, chair of several District committees and had held most portfolios at Club level. He, along with his wife Lorna, was involved in overseas aid programs to New Guinea, Bangladesh and Nepal. Max's career in Rotary was sustained and outstanding over many years. His great knowledge of Rotary affairs as well as sense of humour will be missed. His wife Lorna, four children and numerous grandchildren survive Max. He celebrated his 80th Birthday on the 16th December 2010 at a wonderful weekend party where all but one grandchild were present. 21st January 2011 |
