Several members of the Rotary Club of Benalla have travelled to Port Vila in Vanuatu to assist the local community to refurbish old classrooms and paint and fit out six new classrooms in Port Vila’s Central School. Jane Rush, Director of International Service, has stated that this RAWCS project (Rotary Australia World Community Service) is a “hands on experience” that will benefit disadvantaged children in that community. “These sort of programs advance international goodwill and peace in developing countries,” she added. Volunteers have funded their own travel and living expenses while they spend fourteen days in Vanuatu. |
