Benalla Rotary President Ian Davies Hands over to the Salvation Army a Cheque for $1200.00
"Rotary Club of Benalla had heard of the huge shortfall the Salvation Army was experiencing in the lead up to Christmas, we like to support the community whenever possible and at present there are people struggling that need a hand.
The Salvo's do a fantastic job and they really do not need the extra burden of having a lack of funds to carry out their tasks.
On behalf of Rotary and the Salvo's I appeal to anyone that may be able to spare a little to contact either Peter or Heather Ellis or the Salvo shop and give a donation to help those worse off than ourselves".
Major Peter Ellis said, "He would like to thank the Rotary Club of Benalla for this much needed donation; they have always been there to help when things get tough. Due to an increased demand from those in need we are very short of funds in the lead up to Christmas so we would really appreciate any help the community can give which will help us support those in need at this important time of year"
