Introduction to MUNA

WHAT IS MUNA?

Model United Nations Assembly is where students come together to participate in a simulated United Nations General Assembly conference.
Aim - to increase international understanding of world issues and to promote peace and goodwill.
It is a great project to enable your Rotary club to be involved with local secondary schools.
Enables students to expand their knowledge of the workings of the UN and other countries.
Applications are due as soon as possible to ensure your school gets their nominated country of choice

HISTORY?

MUNA began in Australia with the Rotary Club of Lake Cargelligo in 1980.The Rotary Club of Forbes took it over in 1984.In 1989 World President Royce Abbey placed MUNA on the World Youth Activities Agenda for Rotary and similar sessions are now held in many countries. The Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise currently hosts the national program, which attracts students from across Australia. Often these teams are the winners from District MUNAs held around Australia. Many Rotary Districts now run their own version annually and send their outstanding team to participate in the Canberra MUNA. This year is the 15th National MUNA. Other Districts accept registrations from Clubs beyond their District.

WHEN AND WHERE
