Friends in Rotary service
For some time, dwindling Rotary membership numbers in Rotary International has been causing concern for Rotary administrators.
Many special initiatives and/or annual challenges have been launched by various Rotary leaders with only marginal success. It is generally recognised that districts in this part of the Rotary world have been able to keep the membership loss to a "trickle" only via the formation of new Rotary clubs.
Rotary Down Under has a vested interest in this situation.
Annual subscriptions to Rotary Down Under are still the principal form of income for your official regional magazine organisation.
Official records show that our audited circulation has fallen by almost 4000 since the high mark of 50,640 at June 1996. In real financial terms, we calculate that this erosion of subscription/member numbers has cost your magazine in excess of $400,000!
Thus, the RDU Management Committee and staff believe it is time to take positive action and strive to retrieve the situation.
Click here for the RDU Membership Development Kit which has been successfully "road tested" with clubs in several districts and District Governors have given their approval to distribute ONE sample kit to EVERY Rotary club in New Zealand and Australia.
RDU is prepared to underwrite the cost of kit preparation and postage in return for the strong support of District Governors at district level. We plan to recoup cost by the ongoing sale of resource folders to clubs if and when they take up the challenge of the project.
The cost of the resource folders to complete the kits will be $10 each - inclusive of GST, postage and handling - and these may be ordered from RDU Supplies. The plan is for each Rotary club to send a complete kit - including the personalised correspondence and resource folder - to EACH prospective new member. Clubs will, of course, be required to "personalise" the formal letter and testimonials with their own names and addresses.
The project has the complete support and backing of RI Membership Coordinator PDG Jenny Coburn. Please take time to read the accompanying letter.
Districts and clubs deciding to commence the program may access the formal letter, testimonials and supporting documentation electronically by direct contact with RDU administrative staff - reception@rotarydownunder.com.au
Clubs who adopt the Membership Drive plan can obtain supplies of the resource folders from the RDU Supplies offices in Parramatta, New South Wales. |
