PDG Clive and Rae Walker participate
in the Great Australian Bike Ride 2009

PDG Clive & Rae Walker took part as part of the support crew for the Perth to Adelaide leg of the Great Australian Bike Ride for the Australian Rotary Health fund.

The Perth to Adelaide section of the Great Australian Bike Ride was stage 8, scheduled for 6 weeks from August 16th to September 24th 2009.

After a leisurely start riding around Margaret River, Mount Barker and Denmark, the ride heads east to Esperance and then north to Kalgoorlie. It will take ten days to ride across the Nullarbor Plain and along the cliffs above the Great Australian Bight.

Day 180 (From commencement of the ride) is this stages' longest length of ride at 167 kilometres but after riding two sides of the Iron Triangle, the riding Rotarians will be able to enjoy the wine country as they roll into Adelaide.

PDG Clive and Rae would appreciate support from Rotarians and Clubs of District 9790 with donations to Australian Rotary Health. This is an ongoing appeal.

How to donate details are available from http://www.greataustralianbikeride.org.au/
