Club Administration Director
- An Overview

The role of the District Committee for Administration is to provide support and information to clubs.

Club Service was the first avenue of Rotary Service and logically so. Unless the clubs are strong with membership, offer interesting meetings, with relevant projects and encourage active service, the rest of the Avenues of Service, Vocational, Community, New Generations and International will have no basis.

Club Administration at Club level is a support role to the President.

The position is to conduct and assist with activities associated with the effective operation of the Club.

To oversee and/or help organise weekly and special programs.

If you in your Club have a separate Administration position he/she may be able to:

Help the Secretary track Club attendance and make-ups
Promote fellowship among members and guests
Assist the Bulletin Editor
Oversee Sergeant at Arms (to keep the Club on an acceptable profile)
Stress to members the importance of regular attendance
Encourage make-ups at other Clubs
See that someone goes with newer members on their first make-up
Make sure meetings start and finish on time (This is part of the Sergeant at Arms duty but the Administration role is to ensure it happens)
The Administration portfolio is also to ensure the History of the Club is being recorded and Archived
Assist the Family of Rotary person with gaining information on what is happening to members, their families and past member’s partners etc.
Encourage your Club to participate in the District Bulletin Awards and guide the Editor on content if required
Promote the achievements of the Club by submitting an entry to the Significant Achievement Awards committee
Raise the awareness of attendance at District Conference Advertise and encourage interest and attendance at World Conventions

This is the function of the Administration position.

Depends on the size of the Club as often in a smaller Club the two undertakings are combined.

If I can be of assistance to your Club please contact me and I will arrange to meet with you and/or attend one of your meetings.
