Diamond Creek Bowel Scan
Program

Dr. Ian McPherson from the Rotary Club of Eltham is co-ordinating a joint Rotary Bowel Scan Project between the Rotary Club of Diamond Creek and the Rotary Club of Eltham, in Diamond Creek, Saint Helena and Eltham. Kits have been distributed to the chemist shops in Eltham, and to Discount Drug Store at Diamond Creek Shopping Station, Priceline Diamond Creek at Diamond Creek Plaza and Saint Helena Pharmacy at Saint Helena Marketplace.

The kits cost $10 each. The Bowel Scan project is a Community Service project by the Rotary Clubs of Diamond Creek and Eltham. The test is to detect occult blood in the stool. If the test shows positive it means that follow up investigation is necessary. If it is negative it means that you don’t have to complete the test for another 12 months. The test should be taken by all people over 40. The Rotary Bowel Scan Project has already saved lives.
