Royce Abbey

As you may be aware, Past Rotary International President 2006--2007 Bill Boyd, will be coming from New Zealand, to be our guest of honour and keynote speaker, for the

Royce Abbey -- Rotary Celebration dinner

at Moonee Valley racecourse,
7.00 for 7.30 pm on
Wednesday, 3rd December 2008.

Moonee Valley was chosen because it has good parking, great presentation and can be expanded to suit a large attendance.

The dinner provides an excellent opportunity to showcase one or more of your enthusiastic members, whom you have chosen to be honoured with a Royce Abbey Award, which provides encouragement and recognition for newer members, who demonstrate both "Enthusiasm and Commitment" to the ideals of Rotary.

Already, there are over 90 Royce Abbey Awardees, most of whom will be joining us to celebrate the Past, Present and Future of Rotary with two of Rotary International's most distinguished and popular Rotarians------ Royce Abbey and Bill Boyd.

The Past being those, such as Past R.I. Presidents, Past District Governors and past club Presidents etc, the Present being the present DG'S and club Presidents etc, and the Future being the DG elects, club president elects and the newer clubs members.

The dinner will provide a delightful setting for the announcement of new Awardees and the formal presentations by both Bill and Royce. Many clubs have indicated the dinner will be an official club meeting, replacing their normal weekly meeting.

If you have not already done so, could I ask you and your Board to consider selecting an appropriate member/s to be presented with their Award during what we believe will be a memorable occasion.

The process to nominate potential Awardees of your selection, is on our web-site and also appears in the District Directory. Funds from the Award are given in their entirety to Rotary Foundation's Permanent Fund.

For further information about the Award and the dinner, please check on our web site or why not give me a call and I will be pleased to provide you with further background. Please call me on 0412 706 566.

Thankyou for taking the time to consider your Club's involvement. Please come and say hello at the celebration dinner.
