The role of the District 9790 New Generations Committee is to assist in the planning, organization and co-ordination of District Rotary Clubs in implementing New Generation programs. It will aim to be a resource which clubs will want to call upon. Its principal aim is the communication of a series of ideas, problems and social experiences, which will assist the young participants in forming their own values and moral standards
Summer School Program This committee will promote sponsorship by clubs and select suitable students from candidates nominated by clubs to attend the programs. National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) & The National Youth Science Forum provides a unique experience for some 280 of Australia's best Year 11 schools students who are interest in science. The Siemens Science Experience encourages students about to enter year 10 to consider science, engineering and technology as interesting and worthwhile career choices. Almost 3,000 places are available Australia wide. Chairman PP Kelvin Rogash (Margaret) Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) This international youth project simulates the workings of the United Nations Assembly by having teams of two senior students from a number of secondary schools represent a particular U.N. country in debates on matters of world political, social and environmental issues. Youth Exchange students can also participate. Co-ordinator Pres Wendy-Grace Williams Ian Murphy Memorial Debating Clubs encourage secondary schools to form debating teams to compete with different schools in our District. Debates are normally conducted at the clubs. The final debate is held at the District Conference each year. The Ian Murphy Memorial debate was named after PP Ian Murphy of the Rotary Club of Corryong
Youth Exchange Committee This committee co-ordinates and facilitates reciprocal 12 month secondary school exchanges between students sponsored by Rotary Clubs in the District and overseas Rotary Clubs with the objective of promoting international goodwill, peace and understanding.
